Add Shutdown And Restart Tiles To Windows 8 Start Screen

Many users experiencing problem with adding shutdown and restart tiles to windows 8 Start Menu.  So here is the easy way do it very simple. To add Shutdown, Restart, Logoff, Sleep and lock tiles to the Windows 8 Start menu first you need to create shortcuts in windows 8 desktop and pin it to windows 8 start menu.  Follow the Steps below.

1. Right-click on your desktop, then go to New and select Shortcut.

2. In the Location box, type

• To add shut down Tile in Windows 8:-  C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe /p 
• To add Restart Tile in Windows 8:-  shutdown /r /t 0
• To add Lock Tile to Windows 8:- C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation
• To Add Sleep Tile:- C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0 
• To Add Logoff Tile:- C:\Windows\System32\logoff.exe

3. Click Next to continue, Then Type a name ( Shutdown, Restart, Sleep etc.) for your shortcut, then click the Finish button.
4. Now you successfully created a shortcut on your windows 8 desktop. But the icon of the shortcut doesn’t seems good!! So we need to change icon of shortcuts. To do this Right Click On the Shortcut-> Properties-> Change Icon-> Select Your Favorite Icon from the box and click ok. Also You can add your favorite icons from your pc by clicking on browse.

5. Again Right-click on the shortcut and select Pin to Start. Now your shortcut will appear on your windows 8 Start.
